Julianna was recognized by a fellow staff member for providing hope and comfort to a patient who experienced many setbacks and lost hope. The patient had been in the unit for three months, but for the four days under Julianna's care, Julianna made it her mission to empower the patient to feel heard, valued, and cared for as a patient and a person. As a result, the patient marked a turning point in healing which was noticed by fellow nurses and doctors. In her nomination, the co-worker explained that a patient with little willpower to move forward transformed into a patient who smiled and had a new desire to take steps towards reaching optimal health.
