... all my coworkers have at one point or another saved a life, however, Julianna saved a patient from deterioration and possibly death. On wednesday, May 22, I received report from Julianna on a patient she felt did not seem right. Her instinct was correct, but she just didn't know what was wrong. I assessed the patient with her; and noted that the patient was not well. She was the one who had been taking care of the patient and knew her best. Minutes later, Dr. H walked in to give her results and possibly discharge her since all the tests ordered seemed to be normal. Thanks to Julianna's report, I was able to tell him what she and I saw in the patient. This prompted Dr. H to ask more questions and scan her brain. The CT scan showed that she had a subdural hemorrhage with midline shifting. The patient was treated and admitted, and got better. Julianna, you are an unsung hero and truly deserve this award. You save a life, and a Mother was alive for Mothers Day!
