I’m in and out of hospitals quite a bit, and I’ve seen and dealt with many different nurses. Most are pleasant, but some are there because it’s their job, and they do what they have to—and do it without feelings toward making the patient more at ease. Julie talks to you when you are nervous, and just her pleasant personality and smile can make your stay more at ease. Never once did I ring the call bell and have her come in like I was bothering her. As I said, I have been here [at SJH] a lot…and never wanted to fill out a card saying how good a person is at their job and just the good feeling she brings to a patient: I hope you would give her some kind of special recognition.
