Not only did she stay with me, she captured photos and videos of my baby and me after the delivery, and those mean the world to me because I was not awake. I will cherish those forever.
At 39 weeks pregnant, I was riding home from Disney on the highway, and a car hit us. When the ambulance brought me to the hospital, I was rushed up to labor and delivery, not knowing what to expect. Was my baby alive? Was my baby moving? I could tell something was off, but I wasn’t sure exactly what. They immediately put me under monitoring and noticed that my baby’s heart rate kept dropping. My husband was there with me, and we were just praying for the best. The doctor came in and told me I was going to be taken for an emergency C-section and that my husband could not come with me and they had to get the baby out as soon as possible. Julianna held my hand as I did not know what to expect or even if my baby was still alive. As I lay on the bed, scared, she kept telling me everything was going to be okay and did what she could to calm me down and give me reassurance. I asked her not to leave me because I felt so alone, as they wouldn’t let my husband come back with me to deliver my baby. She was the last person I saw before I was put under anesthesia, and she was the first person I saw when I woke up - she didn’t leave me. She stayed after her shift was over to be there with me as support when I was at my lowest and thought I was losing my baby, and I didn’t know anyone in the room. God sent her to be with me that day. Even though her shift was over, she stayed with me. Not only did she stay with me, she captured photos and videos of my baby and me after the delivery, and those mean the world to me because I was not awake. I will cherish those forever. Julianna went above and beyond her duties that day. I will never forget her, and her acts of kindness towards me and her compassion. God really sent me an angel that day, and I feel beyond blessed to have a nurse like her on one of the most important days of my life.
