April 2024 Honoree
Julie A Hankins, DNP, MS, RN
Julie Hankins is an extraordinary nurse educator. She possesses the knowledge and skills as witnessed in her delivery. She collaborates well with staff, managers, and educators. She has been a nurse for over 40 years and shares her personal experiences in all her teaching. She has demonstrated her commitment to excellence and teamwork, as demonstrated in the rollout of the Pediatric education for the Urgent Care staff. She is accountable and reliable, as seen in her connecting Pediatrics with Urgent Care staff to improve the comfort and knowledge of how the urgent care nurses care for pediatric patients.
Although she is the interim educator for the Radiology department, she supported them in establishing validators and their competencies and coordinating a Radiology conference. She was the chair of the Ambulatory Professional Practice Council and led the team to excellence as they met with the Magnet surveyors. She is great to work with and ensures her education is supported by reputable resources. She is a seasonal preceptor for MSN education nursing students. She is open to learn new processes and is such a team player. Julie exemplifies the extraordinary nurse educator, and I am so blessed to have the opportunity to work with her.
