Julie was always looking out for my husband. She always explained all medicines she was going to administer before doing so. At one point, a new medicine was on the schedule for my husband. It was something we felt uncomfortable with him getting. She reminded me that we have the right to refuse it. She helped me to feel like a stronger advocate for my husband. There was an incident where a representative came into my husband’s room to try to “sell” us on the rehab facility he works for. The whole situation made me feel uncomfortable. I found out later he was not supposed to come into rooms to talk to patients. Julie alerted the appropriate people and he is not supposed to do that anymore.

My husband was a patient over a holiday. Julie was so worried about me eating that she made a plate for me from the staff potluck. Another time she helped even when she was assigned to another patient. Our nurse was tied up with a new admittance. Julie stepped in and was able to give my husband some medicine to help him relax. He was having a tough time after a procedure.

Julie is a special nurse and I am so glad that we have to meet her. She definitely made our days brighter in Weaver 10.
