My son was born 8 weeks early and was our first child. My first few days in the NICU were terrifying. All of the nurses there were amazing and kind, but I was so scared. I visited him every day. Julie was assigned to him a week or so after he was born and that day was probably one of the best days of my life. Julie talked to me while I was visiting and made me feel so comfortable. We had great conversations. She made some photo collages of my son that really meant a lot to me. I told my mom and husband all about her. When my husband finally met her he said, "She is like a best friend". Having someone who can connect with people on a personal level is incredibly important, and Julie is that person. She changed my entire perspective and made me so comfortable and happy. I doubt I would have made it through that period in my life as easily and successfully as I did if it were not for her.
