Julie was floated to the Pediatric Unit to help with the patient load and staffing concerns. Julie, at previous times when on the unit, has always been great. Arrives with a smile and great teamwork. On this particular day, Peds admitted a patient who required a lot of additional time. This nurse was basically 1:1 with the patient and family member. Julie showed great teamwork and attitude, “Where can I help?” “Can I do your hourly rounding?” “I can help with your 2nd focused assessments?” Julie helped to make a difficult situation run as smoothly as possible. While providing excellent care to all the patients on the floor.
