I would like to recognize Julie from the ICU Pod of the Central Staffing Office (CSO) for her dedication to all the seven ICUs she works in as a staff nurse. She works in all the PICUs and NICUs as well as the CICU at CHOA and is cross-trained to House Supervisor and Pediatric Trauma Specialist roles. Her standards of care are set high and she also supports the PICU at Scottish Rite by teaching Trauma Admit Skills quarterly in their department. She has worked as a member of the Rapid Response Team and is CVVH/Plasmapheresis trained. Even though Julie is cross-trained to many units and roles she has taken the time to be certified in three different certifications; CCRN (Critical Care Certification), CPN (Certified Pediatric Nurse) and ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses). Recently she asked to volunteer as a relief nurse for the NICU at Hermann Memorial Children's when our CEO asked for volunteers to support the nurses who were affected by Hurricane Harvey and needed time off to take care of their personal situations. She was selected to go for two weeks and left her young family at home while she supported the nursing community at Hermann Memorial Children's in Houston. She serves as a role model for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Hermann Memorial Children's was fortunate to have her talents and dedication to the pediatric nursing profession.
