She was attentive, concerned, and involved me directly in my patient care experience.
Last year I was admitted to MidHudson Regional Hospital twice, both to 6 Cooke. After my last stay at the hospital, I wanted to take the time to point out some things that probably do not get mentioned nearly enough. First, my admission process in the ED was great and I felt taken care of right away. The staff were respectful, courteous and listened to me when I spoke. Once I made it to my room on 6 Cooke things only got better. I was greeted by Julie Cappola and was fortunate enough to have her as my nurse for most of my visit. She was attentive, concerned, and involved me directly in my patient care experience. She took the time to talk to me on a personal level as well and got to know me. Over the course of the week, I was delighted to see Julie every morning and looked forward to talking with her throughout the day. Instead of just passing medications and moving to her other patients, which I am sure she had many of, she would spend time asking me about my personal life, how I was feeling and working to make sure I felt comfortable. While I don't look forward to getting sick again, I do know that if it does happen, I will be well looked after by Julie and the rest of the 6 Cooke team.
