Julie went out of her way to assist me and my patient. I knew I could count on Julie if I had a question, which I had a million.
Working in the ER, you do not see many patients deliver babies and you very rarely see a delivery at 19 weeks. It just so happens, I was assigned to care for a delivered patient at 19 weeks in the ER. We had a bereavement OB box filled with generic items for these types of situations, but I thought the patient needed more, so I called the L&D charge nurse. I was so thankful it was Julie, who provided exceptional leadership and kindness.
Julie has a comforting voice, and she explained everything I needed to do for my patient. She explained how to care for the specimen as well as what to do with it. Julie even went out of her way to bring information to the ER for the patient. She also brought the patient a beautiful bracelet that was made by a mom who had also suffered a similar loss. This gesture brought a little light to this patient and her family during this unbearable tragedy. I witnessed the patient smile and knew it was because of Julie and the assistance she offered.
Julie went out of her way to assist me and my patient. I knew I could count on Julie if I had a question, which I had a million. I thank her for being so patient with me. It truly takes a village to care for all kinds of patients, and I am very thankful for Julie's teamwork, which allowed us to provide the best possible care for my patient during her loss. Thank you, Julie, for standing by the Inova mission, vision, and values as it definitely did not go unnoticed. I am thankful for meeting a nurse like Julie, who loves her work. She exemplifies dedication and a commitment to care for patients, and for this, she will never be forgotten!
