Julie also asked about my wife and suggested we FaceTime her so she could participate even though she couldn’t make it down.
Our 34-week twins went straight to the NICU at Texas Children’s while my wife was unable to immediately join them. This whole situation was very frightening with my wife in recovery and our babies in a whole different area with their own set of challenges ahead.

Julie was the first nurse we met; she explained a lot to me and I did my best to listen so I could return to my wife and update her. Julie also asked about my wife and suggested we FaceTime her so she could participate even though she couldn’t make it down. This was one of many very helpful tips that Julie was able to provide to help us through this. Even though Julie was the NICU nurse she helped my wife tremendously actually suggesting things to her nurses that worked to the point that she was able to visit the babies much sooner than expected.

We are very grateful for her help throughout our NICU stay. Every time she came back on shift she stopped by to see how we were doing and even visited during breaks. We’ve had a few good nurses throughout our stay but none have gone above and beyond like Julie. She will forever stand out in our minds as a person who genuinely cares about not only our twin boys but us as a family.
