We truly feel that Julie's compassion saved my mother's life.
My mother contracted Covid. She was lucky and only had lack of appetite and fluid intake. This sent her into dehydration and UTI, which affected her by being very confused, disoriented, and depressed. My mom had told Julie that she was giving up. Julie suggested that possibly two family members in full PPE could come visit mom and maybe that would help bring her out of the depression. Mom perked right up and started eating and drinking. We truly feel that Julie's compassion saved my mother's life. I cannot begin to thank her! What a wonderful nurse!

Julie is an exceptional nurse and a phenomenal coworker! She meets and exceeds all ten criteria listed for the DAISY Award. Her most outstanding feature is her enthusiasm to complete her responsibilities. She tackles each item on her 'to-do' list with a goal to complete with the best of her abilities. Her compassion for our residents is exceptional. This also extends to family members and her co-workers.
Recently we had a late admission, and rather than leave the charge nurse struggle with completing it, Julie volunteered to stay a couple of extra hours to do the admission for them. Julie doesn't wait for you to say you need help. She recognizes when help is needed and just jumps in to offer assistance. When you see Julie's name on the schedule you know it will be a good day for everyone. Julie is the dedicated nurse that the DAISY Award was created for. Her first priority is always fulfilling what is best for our residents.
