Julie Fox, RN
A patient who had been admitted to the ICU and was there for a handful of days made a wonderful comment to me while I was drawing her morning lab work regarding her nurse, Julie. This patient had expressed previously to me that she was very nervous and anxious about a cardio procedure she was going to have. While I was in the room, Julie calmly reassured this lady and spoke very highly of the cardiac staff as well.
The next day I was talking to that patient again and asked how her procedure went, and she said everyone was amazing, and calmed all of her fears down. She also said that once Julie had clocked out for the day she went to cardio, held her patient's hand, and acted as her support person. Every interaction I have had with Julie has been so pleasant, and she goes above and beyond for her patients. She works very well with everyone and speaks so highly of other departments/staff members. I thought this was a very caring act done by Julie, to be by her patient's side even after working her night shift.
