Julie Hanson, BSN, RN

After spending over 24 hours in the emergency room for a possible bowel obstruction I was admitted to the hospital and Julie was my admitting nurse. She was so kind and helpful in getting me settled. She also had to do the unpleasant task of dealing with my incontinent bowel movements as a result of trying to take care of the possibility of an obstruction. She was extremely compassionate and never got irritated or hurried. Nurses don't get paid enough or are undervalued for some of the unpleasant tasks they take on. I also appreciated the way that she took the time to explain all that was happening and really listened to my concerns. Julie is a prime example of what this award is all about.
