Julie is a true advocate for every patient on the unit, and we are extremely lucky to have her as a part of our team. On Friday evening, a set of twins were transferred to the Special Care Nursery here at Union from a neighboring hospital. The mom of the twins rode along in the ambulance with the second patient after being discharged just 18 hours post-delivery. Julie advocated for this mom to have a room on the pediatric floor not only to be near her babies but also because Julie felt something was not right. This new mom was exhausted and, early on Saturday morning, woke up with excruciating pain. The mother was later admitted to the Women's Center and given a blood transfusion as well as antibiotics. I know this mom had a better outcome, thanks to Julie's advocating. Thank you for all you do for our babies and new moms!
