Julie was nominated by another Nurse, Amanda Burgon, also from the Spinal Cord Injury Unit. Amanda wrote:
There was a patient from Upper Michigan that had been to Detroit and that he had only heard about Detroit prior to his admission to RIM. He had been at RIM for several weeks as an inpatient and became bored, so Julie and another nurse, Nicole, decided to take him to a Brad Paisley concert. They worked with the patient daily to prepare for this outing. Following the concert, the patient talked about the outing for days and returned to RIM several days a week thanking Julie and expressing how grateful he is to have his special Nurse Julie.
