Julie took the extra steps to ensure my patient’s last day was special. She showed the utmost compassion and care. She shaved him, bathed him, made him a special shake, and ordered a tuna sandwich, which he requested that sounded good. She held his hand at the bedside when he was nearing the end as we had transitioned to comfort. This is my second time with Julie as assisting my patient with end-of-life care, and she does an exceptional job. She truly makes the hardest day for these families and patients much better with her calming presence and care. She is attentive and anticipates the needs of our patients and their families, making our hospital stand out as a place that gives excellent care.
