When Julie came to his bedside, she would hold his hand, give him words of encouragement, and made him as comfortable as possible. Every time she came into the room and spoke, Pa would open his eyes and get a smile on his face. When she left, you could hear her enter the next room with the same upbeat voice and encouraging words that she had just given us. Everyone she came in contact with was made to feel as if they were the only ones she was caring for. When Pa passed, word got to her and she immediately called in to deliver a message to all of us of her condolences. As a family, we wanted to be able to show her our appreciation for all she did to make Pa's final days as comfortable as possible, not only for him, but for the family as well. She showed us so much warmth and compassion.
