Julie had a patient for 2 days. On the second day, she immediately recognized that the patient had something wrong with his lower leg. She called our hospitalist and test after test was ordered. All with negative results however the patient's leg was not improving. She immediately called Dr. B to evaluate the patient's leg. The patient had compartment syndrome in his lower leg. Had Julie not proceeded in finding an answer the patient most likely would have lost his leg. She was adamant that something was wrong and she continued to work until an answer was found. She is a prime example of an amazing work ethic and true dedication to our patients. The spouse cried with tears of joy for all of Julie's intense efforts.
