Julie is very deserving of the DAISY award, according to the patient who nominated her. “Julie looked beyond my color, diagnosis, disease process, and treated me with dignity and compassion. She went over and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I was not able to see my young children due to my illness. Julie made colorful MOMMY letters to put in my in my window so my children were easily able to spot my window, wave and blow kisses. Julie put my anxiety to rest by sharing lab results in a timely manner; call other departments to make sure samples were obtained timely. She really is an exceptional nurse and her compassion for the patient stands out above the rest.”
