Last week Wednesday and Thursday were our last clinical days at EMH. We showed our appreciation for the nurses by bringing in some food (which I know is always appreciated).
The students all commented on how much they had learned on the 5th floor and thought it was a good unit to be on. I have to admit that it has been a while since I had to focus on cardiac patients and I also enjoyed being on the 5th floor to "refresh" my knowledge and skills!
I must also relay something to you about Julie Mueller. I have known and worked with her for many years now and she was also at one time a student of mine in the RN-BSN completion program at Cardinal Stritch University. Julie is a gem and fantastic nurse. Julie's willingness to take the time to take my students under her wing and teach them on her own is something I do not see very often. Julie enjoys teaching and it shows. My students expressed how well Julie can explain something to them and also appreciated that Julie was willing to help teach my students how to perform skills (starting IVs, etc.). What a great nurse she is and I couldn't agree more!
