Julie was recognized for the compassion she showed to a critical patient who came into the ED. That morning, Julie and another Caregiver were the lead staff members who ensured that a Code Team was formed and extra ED staff were called to receive other critical patients. Not only did this patient receive excellent care from our ED Caregivers, but Julie went the extra mile to comfort a critical patient during a very vulnerable time. The patient said, "there are so many extraordinary things that nurses do to physically help patients, Julie's act of compassion and empathy is the heart and art of nursing."
