My husband had hip replacement surgery. When he came out of recovery he was given morphine, which kept stopping his breathing. They got him stable but the second day he was out of it and couldn’t stay awake without pain meds. He was in so much pain and we were waiting for the doctor to put orders in for better pain control. Julie said she could give him the pain medications needed if he wanted. When she came in with the meds we discussed everything going on and she was honest with me and told me that she didn’t feel comfortable giving the meds to my husband due to a lack of alertness. I told her that if she didn’t feel right about it, do not do it. I like that she was honest and upfront and contacted the doctor to get a different pain management plan going. I admire Julie’s honesty with me. This showed me she really cared. I don’t know what will happen after this but I believe God gave Julie wisdom concerning this matter. Thank you sincerely, Julie. My husband and I are grateful and thankful you had his overall health as a priority. Thank you for your care during his stay at Integris.
