After receiving a call to help discharge a mentally challenged young man, I arrived to the room as the nurse was trying to help the patient get into the wheelchair. The man seemed distressed, but Julie was very patient and was using multiple approaches to calm him. She was able to get him into the wheelchair and she could tell he was still very uneasy so she reassured him that she would go with him. All the way downstairs she kept a conversation going with him until he reached his loved one. Julie went above and beyond; I am very thankful we have nurses like her at SRMC.
