April 2026 Honoree
Julie Pearson, RN
After vacationing in NYC and taking a road trip to Orlando for Disney World, I ended up getting sick and coming to Saint Agnes. My nurse for the day- and let me say this as someone who has never been in a US hospital before- is such an amazing, loving, compassionate, funny, empathic, and such a beautiful human being/nurse all around. I can't think of any nurse more deserving of the DAISY Award than her. She took excellent care of me when I was emotional, scared, and hurting because I wasn't home in Italy. She made me feel safe. She was supportive and stood by me the entire time. She is a nurse who really cares about her patients, and it shows how much she loves being a nurse. I believe in my heart that she deserves this special award.
From the bottom of my heart, please never change. Continue to shine, continue to be that beautiful person inside that took care of me today. May God bless you always. Go back to Greece. Finish the bucket list we talked about. I will never forget you and your funny and silly jokes that made me laugh when I was feeling down/sad, and you knew instantly without me saying a word, and you gave me a hug. This...this is what makes you an extraordinary nurse. Patients need a nurse like you, because that random act of kindness can instantly change what a patient is going through. And I just realized that it is Nurses Week. What a special week to win a special award for a special nurse. I pray your co-workers/supervisors/managers see what I got to see in the 1-2 days that you cared for me. You will always hold a special place in my heart, especially because this is/was my first time visiting the United States. A trip I won't ever forget
