Julie does not believe in "my patient, your patient". This young Nurse is compassionate, kind, caring, and skilled beyond her years. Anytime a patient is calling, weather hers or not, she always jumps in to help. She is usually in the patient's room before you can even answer the call light. Julie is so helpful to both her fellow Nurses and PCAs. She let me watch her draw labs. Julie has answered my endless questions every time I work with her about infections, various medications, etc. She is always willing to educate fellow staff who are curious because they are in school.

Julie is also a huge help to other new Nurses, guiding them with starting IVs, giving meds they are new to giving, etc. We are a busy unit, and anytime she is at work, I know it will be a good night because we have someone who brings superior teamwork to the table every single night. Julie is consistently offering to help give meds for other Nurses when she sees they need help, before they even ask. She is quick to offer help to PCAs with cleaning, changing beds, taking patients to the bathroom before they even ask, and taking initiative to do things without being asked. You can tell her heart is really in her everyday actions, treating patients like family. I really can't name one single event that made me want to nominate her. It is the consistently positive, hard working, compassionate care that she always provides, no matter what is going on in the unit, that makes her so valuable to all of us. This is the way she sets the standard for quality care. During the frustrating time of COVID, which has taken a toll on the hospital as a whole emotionally, Julie has been invaluable. I would trust her to take care of my own family members. Julie has a very long career and bright future ahead of her.
