Julie Rowell, MBA, BSN, RN, Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer, Thomas Hospital, Fairhope, Alabama, has been the fabric of our institution for 31 years. She has set an example for our nursing staff, leading by example, word, and deeds, and helped create an environment where our nurses were allowed and encouraged to care for patients with empathy and a healer’s touch. She always has the well-being of the nurses in mind, even when making hard decisions. She is smart, savvy, and creative and has been a great leader for Thomas’ nurses through many challenging times.
