Juliette sat down and ensured me that it was still my decision to proceed, and, just as easily as I was prepped, everything could be canceled, and I could decide to leave.
I was admitted for an ECV. I was feeling very anxious about the procedure as I hadn't received much information on it prior to my admission. From the second Juliette greeted my husband and me, I could tell what a warm and compassionate provider she was. She spent so much time educating me on what to expect, was attentive to my care and made sure the baby was ok throughout my stay and checked in often to make sure that I was comfortable (especially when my spinal block took a long time to wear off).

The moment though that I won't forget was when she took the time to check in with me to ensure that I still wanted to proceed with the procedure. I had just had several providers come into the room and was feeling very overwhelmed with the information and statistics that I had just received. I expressed my concerns and was met with, "Well, you're already here and prepped, so we might as well just try." After everyone else left the room, Juliette sat down and ensured me that it was still my decision to proceed, and, just as easily as I was prepped, everything could be canceled, and I could decide to leave.

Ultimately, my ECV was not successful, and I was upset. Juliette took the time to listen to me and reassure me. I wound up having a scheduled C-section a few days later, and Juliette also took the time to make sure I'd know what to expect prior to that. Honestly, she was one of the best parts of my perinatal care and I am so grateful for the compassionate care that she provided.
