Julio has a great ability to make trusting relationships with his patients, their family members, and his peers. Julio learns not just about the patients' medical issuesbut gets to know his patients personally. He knows their likes and dislikes. One patient Julio took care of just wanted to eat a Payday candy bar. This was that patient's wish; Julio brought the candy bar in for the patient and made this patient's day. Julio is willing to assist his peers on the unit with difficult patient situations such as confused patients and patients who have had changes in condition. He is supportive of new staff to the unit, utilizing humor to help dissipate tense situations. Julio has served in the resource RN role and has received positive feedback from peers about how helpful he was to them. Julio has recently taken on the precepting role for the unit. He is upbeat, positive, and keeps his preceptees on task.
