June was nominated for her thoughtfulness and patience while caring for a challenging patient following a hip procedure. The patient grudgingly came in for the procedure after years of neglecting his own care. He was in denial about his condition and was not happy to be in the hospital.
Despite his attitude, June made him feel loved and remained very sympathetic towards him. She helped him to see the importance of taking better care of himself through genuine compassion and direct dialogue.
"June has a wonderful way of interacting with patients," a colleague wrote. "She has a genuine heart for nursing and really shows Christ's love by the way she cares for others." June always puts her patients first, and it shows in the ways they respond to her care.
