I have known June for the past 15 years. She has always been willing to go the extra mile to make her patients feel better. When I look at her, she is the epitome of a good nurse. I can see all that is good and kind in a nurse, and I see it in her. I sense God's work is being done through her.
The specific reason I am recommending June for the DAISY Award today is because of the way she took care of a homeless patient. June went above and beyond to ensure that this man would have a shower. She made sure that he would be clean and comfortable going to surgery. All nurses should recognize June as a role model, because she always goes the extra mile for her patients.
