The death of a child is something you as a human being would never want to experience. As a nurse, it is something you never wish for. June Matte was the wonderful, compassionate nurse working one to one with a family whose child was dying. Her gentle nature and caring words provided comfort in a devastating time. June used her background in meditation to provide anxiety relieving pressure point holds, she used therapeutic music that was believed to bring the child's soul to a place of peace and as the child took her last breath, June was there holding her hand. This child was so close to all of our hearts and I am thankful everyday June was her nurse that day. June was her friend and never left her side. June is a brilliant nurse and embodies all aspects of what Sick Kids stands for.
