Justin does a phenomenal job keeping spirits up during these situations and his optimistic demeanor often improves the attitudes of those around him.
Justin has been faithful and dedicated to bringing high-quality care to those in our community for over 18 years. This has provided him the opportunity to be versatile in taking on the challenges of several different departments. These include Med/Surg, ER, and Dialysis. His loyalty to his team and WCH are unsurpassed. His time spent in our Dialysis Department is well documented with top-notch patient satisfaction reviews. The connections he made there have been notably missed by some of our patients. When COVID-19 took its toll on our dialysis staff, Justin stepped up to help us tread through, often working long extended hours. Very few people are trained to do this skill and his willingness to step back into his old shoes when asked speaks volumes about his compassionate personality.
He is never hesitant to pick up a shift when asked. I have witnessed him completely change his personal schedule to help his team maneuver through high census. This is greatly attributed to his commitment to working as a team player, even when it may not be convenient for him.
His attitude is also a major contribution to this nomination. He is constantly demonstrating excellent communication skills with his coworkers and making others laugh. The last couple of years have been difficult for many of our bedside nurses. His calm approach often alleviates stress from others and assists in providing clarity on what needs to be done.
He shows a tremendous amount of support to others and will often volunteer for the more difficult assignments. His poise and alacrity behind the COVID curtains have had a lasting impression on many of us. When recovering from illness himself, he was willing to garb up for hours on end. He would emerge from the curtains with indentations to his face from his N95 and exhaustion evident, though he never said a word. No matter how challenging it was, he put his patients and his team first! I would like to show him our appreciation for his commitment to us by honoring him with this award! I cannot think of a more deserving individual to represent WCH and our dedication to our community!
