Justin Frizzell, RN, BSN

Justin took over as nurse manager during a transitional period in our unit. We had been without a permanent manager for several months and our staff could feel it. Justin made it a priority to hear our concerns as a team. He focused on our staffing, rounding on families, and rounding on our nurses. He knew our unit culture of teamwork and he fell right into that. He would spend time out at the nurses' station getting to know new staff and offering a helping hand wherever possible. He has made it a priority to get the extra equipment we have advocated for. He also got secretary positions approved which has helped staff satisfaction improve.

In the past year, we have had several difficult families with extended stays, and he helped to navigate these difficult situations in addition to providing support to the staff and standing their decisions. We have been truly blessed in having such a strong leader within their first year of being a nurse manager.
