Justin was involved with a patient and family during a transition period when they were deciding if the patient should go to hospice or continue treatment. Justine explained the situation to the two daughters by phone, as they were out of town. When they presented to JMC, and their mother was going to hospice, they asked to speak to Justin and at that time I witnessed a true caring moment between one daughter and Justin.

She hugged Justin saying that "he was their long-distance angel over the phone and without his compassion and the information he provided by phone, they would have been lost". It was wonderful to see the exchange between a family and the nurse, and the gratitude this daughter showed towards Justin. As I witnessed the moment, Justin embraced the daughter and it appeared to be a very natural connection with him as he practiced Relationship Based Care with this family and patient as he does on a routine basis with all his patients.
