Justin Parks, RN

Justin was the day nurse for my father in the last few days of his life. We had to make a terrible decision to withdraw intervention and begin comfort care. This involved removing a breathing tube and ventilator, and we were able to hear my dad say that he wanted to go outside. I didn’t think this would be possible given my dad’s condition, but Justin didn’t let that be a barrier and made it happen. Seeing the look on my dad’s face will be a memory I cherish, and I wouldn’t have that without Justin’s diligence in making it happen. In addition to this act, he was kind in answering all our questions, making sure my dad had what he needed, and being a source of support in our toughest days. I am so grateful for his compassion and care, and I am honored to submit this in recognition of his quality and skill.
