March 2014 Honoree
justin utley, RN BSN
Justin assumed care of three children in DCFS custody who were just removed from their home. He stepped up and made them feel comfortable. He ordered them pizza due to them not eating for the past two days. He set them up with coloring pages and crayons. He even gave the two younger children stuffed animals to play with. He walked the 3-year-old to the bathroom and made him feel comfortable and happy.
He made what was a very terrible and impressionable event in the lives of three young children just a little better by being a very caring and compassionate nurse. He showed tonight that his skill as an ED nurse extends into the realm of pediatric patients in emotional crisis.

Thank you, Justin, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
