Justine Ramos, RN
I am a first-quarter nursing student who has just completed my third clinical shift. When I was moved to 2W and assigned to Justine, I then knew what my classmates were talking about. He acted like he did not mind having a student, even though he was so busy.
He took the time to talk to me, gave me a report, walked me through what he was doing, and told me why. It felt like he actually cared about me and my clinical experience. He walked me through skills I’ve never seen before.
When I was saying my goodbyes, I unexpectedly started to cry as I told him how much his time, attention, and effort meant to me. I even told him that when I became an RN, I wanted to be just like him.
I don’t think many nurses realize how much impact they have on their students, especially those just starting out.
