She made me feel comfortable and eased my nerves immediately
Kaelonnie Barzee was my labor and delivery nurse when I had my first child. I was a week over my due date and came in for a scheduled induction on a Sunday evening. Kaelonnie was my nurse the first night and she made me feel comfortable and eased my nerves immediately. I requested to have her the next night if she was on shift. I was lucky enough to get to have her as my nurse all 3 nights I was in the hospital. My L & D experience did not go at all the way I had to expect it to. I ended up being in labor for 24 hours, pushed for 3 hours, and ended up having to have a c-section. I was so fearful of having a c-section, and I cried when they were prepping me to go back. Kaelonnie hugged me and told me that everything was going to be okay. Kaelonnie was so kind every step of the way and was the most amazing labor coach I could have asked for. She was scheduled to go off shift the morning that they took me back for my c-section, but she was kind enough to stay and see me through the surgery and meet our son. On our final night in the hospital, Kaelonnie was my postpartum nurse; she even brought a little gift for our son. I cried the next morning when she went off shift. She gave me the biggest hug and wished us the very best. She played a huge role in our birth story and my husband and I will be forever grateful. She provided the very best care and went above and beyond for our little family. Thank you Kaelonnie!
