Kai Johnson really went out of her way while charging and having a team of her own patients. An ex-coworker coded and died. While making sure that her patients were okay, she ran down to see if the staff and family of the ex-coworker needed anything. She contacted her supervisor to make sure that everything was handled properly and that family and co-workers were okay. Kai then came back and helped the team here have a great day.
Kai is an amazing nurse, charge nurse, heart nurse, and clinical leader. She's here daily taking on the task of being charge nurse, supervising and handling staffing, patient and nurses concerns, as well as taking a team of patients herself without ever complaining. She is one of the best heart nurses graced with knowledge, poise, and accountability. Kai goes above and beyond every day to work as a team player to cover the unit. She will work her scheduled shifts, then flip to nights to help them cover shifts as well. Over the last couple of years take on more and more responsibility and still strives to be the best. The families, patients, Doctors, and Nurses are always happy when she is here. She's truly a nurse angel.
