Kailah cared for me during several of my chemotherapy inpatient stays. She was such a bright spot each day that she was assigned to me. She hung my very first bag of chemo and went out of her way to bring joy into that moment. She asked for my favorite song and played it on her phone. She spoke words of encouragement as we began the process to treat my cancer and begin my healing process. It was an emotional moment for my husband and me. Kailah recognized this and asked to give me a hug. She showed compassion and brought comfort into an anxious time of my life. I would look forward to seeing her during each of my 6 inpatient chemo cycles. Not only is Kailah an extremely competent nurse but she is a friendly face, a compassionate healer, and an exemplary representative for Duke Healthcare.
