Surgical department nurse Kailea Cairns, RN, was named DAISY Award honoree based on a nomination from a patient for her efficiency and highly skilled care, stating she was kind and helped her to relax during a not so relaxing procedure. The patient stated she was able to get an IV started for her faster than anyone has and that “[Eaton] needs a dozen more just like her!” “Kailea has been an absolute blessing to our Sparrow Eaton team. She is ferociously caring, and always looking to assist her coworkers, or work at process improvement for the department, says Elizabeth Olszewski, RN, Sparrow Eaton Nurse Manager of Perioperative Services. “I truly believe Kailea would thrive at any nursing position she chose; she is one of those humans that was destined for the nursing profession.
