Kaileen does an incredible job of walking the line between these two models of care and ensuring that patients not only understand their model of care, but also have had all their questions addressed.
Starting in September of 2023, Kaileen graciously took on a dual role in support of Providence Women's Clinic (PWC). She has been the Nursing Quality Supervisor (NQS) at PWC St Vincent since 2022, helping them regain the par levels of safe & quality care PWC patients come to expect. When Providence added its Maternal Fetal Medicine program in the summer/fall of 2023, Kaileen, with her background in MFM care, did not hesitate to jump in and assist this new program.
Over the last nine months, Kaileen has been the lone Clinic RN & RN Care Coordinator for the Maternal Fetal Medicine program while simultaneously continuing to support her prior role as the NQS at PWC STV. Kaileen has been steadfast in her attention to detail in ensuring the nursing team has the tools they need to provide safe patient care with guidelines that use Evidence-based practices. She has been incredibly collaborative with her fellow NQS leaders within PWC to ensure that all of our PWC locations are receiving and sharing the same information. Kaileen has continued the collaborative effort with the MFM (and ultrasound departments) by assisting with the formation and implementation of workflows that impact our MFM and US departments. She has used her years of work as an MFM RN to help guide workflows and processes that affect not only the MFM department but the PWC department as a whole.
Specifically, she was instrumental in coordinating US training courses for all RNs at PWC to ensure they have the training, skills, and tools they need to complete USs as appropriate. She advocates daily for patients to have consistency in their care within the MFM department. This can be a challenge in the MFM department as right now, that department is between two models of care, and they often have conflicting workflows and recommendations to patients. Kaileen does an incredible job of walking the line between these two models of care and ensuring that patients not only understand their model of care, but also have had all their questions addressed. She navigates this with ease and it such a compassionate way that patients feel at ease and prepared for the rest of their pregnancy.
Any nurse can speak to how intense doing one full-time job is and how adding a second of such high-value need is incredible. Her willingness to help maintain programs in both these departments has allowed both departments to continue to operate at full capacity and continue to provide excellent patient care for our PWC and MFM patients.
