June 2014 Honoree
kailey jacob, RN
Kailey is a newer nurse and as she is developing her skills it would be difficult not to also notice her excellent compassion for her patients.
She was caring for a patient who was going to be taken off his oxygen and made Palliative. His last wish was to see his dog one last time. Kailey made every effort, calling all the appropriate people to ensure his dog could come visit him. After many calls and all the OK's his dog was allowed in. He and his family were all relieved and thankful; he was taken off his BIPAP and passed peacefully that same afternoon. Kailey showed tremendous compassion for her patient, going above and beyond to give her patient his last wish.
