Kaiti is approachable, easy to talk to, and did a great job of juggling 5 departments at once - it was quite impressive.
Kaiti was the interim manager of ICU/IMC. Kaiti helped open IMC in 2020 in addition to already managing the house supervisors, the intensive care unit, the emergency department, and trauma. Kaiti made sure to be present on the unit to get to know the ICU/IMC staff during the leadership transition. Kaiti was the first manager that I ever had that was very quick to respond to an email or text which was appreciated because ICU/IMC had never received that kind of communication. Kaiti did not know critical care but took the time to learn and ask questions to have a better understanding. If we called Kaiti in the ED to help ICU/IMC, she would come every time and never dismissed the task which made the critical care team feel supported. Kaiti helped answer phones at the desk and called staff to come to help the unit. She and the ER charge nurse took a critical patient to CT/MRI for ICU, and she helped walk and follow a traumatic brain injury patient around the unit several days for hours with behavior issues in order to help the unit. Kaiti is the best manager we could have ever asked for, and the ICU/IMC is grateful for her leadership. Kaiti is approachable, easy to talk to, and did a great job of juggling 5 departments at once - it was quite impressive. Kaiti helped the unit transition to the Google drive and the conversion of the body board and all documents electronically. It was her expertise that made it go smoothly. It was successful and an easy process for the charge nurses. Kaiti has been the perfect mentor for me since becoming the department supervisor in 2020. Kaiti and I worked well as a team. She would never assume but asked me about critical care processes in order to have a better understanding of the needs and challenges of the unit. Kaiti has been my rock and a safe place to grow, and learn, and she has helped increase my confidence as a new leader. Kaiti and I have very different personalities, but we work well together and I am always learning from her and am grateful for the time she has put into developing me as a fellow leader. Kaiti is present and available, she literally will answer any question anytime, if she does not know she will point me in the right direction and help me problem solve. Kaiti is kind, and a great teacher, sometimes telling me multiple times until I understand a concept. Kaiti is a wealth of leadership knowledge; she has good judgment and takes the time to talk me through any situation. Kaiti has routinely scheduled "Kaiti and J time" which is a calendar meeting time to chat through problems, and Kaiti has created a video chat room in Gmail so she can guide me through a computer process and see my screen which has been so helpful. Kaiti continues to be an important leader and mentor in my life. Kaiti has truly changed my life for the better, and I am forever grateful for her kindness and support.
