Kaitlyn took extraordinary care of my mom while she was in the hospital with COVID.  Not only did she care for her as though my mom was her own family member, she, also took extra time to speak to me and update me with my mother’s progress, plan of care, and status.  ​ Kaitlyn exemplifies how every nurse should treat a patient and as a fellow nurse myself, it warms my heart to know that there are nurses who care and take the time to make scary experiences tolerable and positive when the light seems so dim. My mom was very fearful and felt alone in her covid isolation, but Kaitlyn was a light to her every day that she cared for her. ​ My mom wished she could have Kaitlyn as her nurse every day and felt less fearful with her calm and encouraging demeanor. She sat with my mom and held her hand while she cried not knowing what the days to come would look like with COVID and listened to my mom’s concerns outside of her own illness.  Kaitlyn shared some scripture verses with my mom and truly eased her fears as they shared precious time together despite her busy day.  It is so easy as a nurse to become caught up in the daily tasks, charting, and hustle and bustle of the day, but I can tell that Kaitlyn truly cares about her patients and genuinely makes a difference in the day of everyone she encounters. ​ She spoke highly of the entire 3W team and assured me that my mom would be taken care of.  Being separated from a loved one during this pandemic is the most difficult position to be in as a family member, but I can rest assured knowing my mom has had Kaitlyn as her nurse along with the entire 3W staff. ​ I cannot extend my thanks enough to her for the care she has provided to my mother during this terrifying time and her hospitalization with COVID. Thank you, Kaitlyn, you are a true example of a compassionate and caring nurse who goes above and beyond for her patients.  You are a blessing to my dear mother and our family even though we haven't and unfortunately will not get to meet you because of this pandemic.
