Kaitlyn frequently works in our Palliative Care Unit and is certified in palliative care. She is passionate about palliative care and it shows in her patient interactions every day. She always takes the time to listen to every one of her patients' concerns and acts as their advocate during Interdisciplinary team rounds.
Kaitlyn worked to arrange a surprise wedding the other day for a patient in palliative care. The patient was unable to attend his daughter's wedding, so Kaitlyn worked diligently with the family to arrange a wedding in the palliative care family waiting room. This family loved Kaitlyn. She was so special to them that they chose her to push the patient down the "aisle" to give away his daughter.
She is truly special to the Palliative Care team and entire 3 Tower unit. She is a valuable team player and will do anything for her fellow colleagues. Kaitlyn always acknowledges the role of loved ones to the patients. She frequently arranges patient's spouses the opportunity to crawl into bed with the patient and spend some quality time with them while in the Palliative Care Unit.
