When I went in for my elective induction, everything was smooth sailing. I went in at 9:00 am, and by 9:38 pm, I had a healthy baby. Suddenly, after delivery, things took a turn for the worst, and I ended up having a postpartum hemorrhage. I was scared of the unknown as things continued to go downhill, and I knew I had a long night ahead of me between blood transfusions and different types of catheters I knew nothing about.

Kaitlyn held my hand through each procedure to ensure I knew I was safe. She educated me on what and why we were doing certain things and always made sure I was heard and comfortable. She even offered to stay over her shift after having such a busy and constant night with me just to make sure I was okay. That same day, when she came back in for her shift, she even came to check on me to make sure I was okay, even though I was no longer technically her patient. I really could not have made it through this very traumatizing time without such a wonderful nurse by my side.
