I was admitted for fetal demise and C-section. Given the circumstances, my few days in the hospital were incredibly difficult. All the staff was amazing and helped in getting me through this time. But Kaitlyn in particular stood out. She was the first person I met when I was so anxious and overwhelmed to begin what would be some of the worst next hours of my life. She quickly put me at ease and helped me know that I would be taken care of. She was my nurse every day during my stay and helped not only in my medical recovery but my emotional one as well. She was compassionate and empathetic, but light when I needed a break from my emotions. She was responsive to all my needs as well as my family's. She helped ensure I had all the time I wanted with my baby and make beautiful memories, both giving me privacy and supporting me in my time with her. When the most difficult time came when I had to leave the hospital without my baby, I was comforted to know that I was handing her off to a nurse whom I learned to trust in those few short days and who would ensure she continued to have dignity and respect after I left. I couldn't be more grateful to all of the staff at Abington who helped me through this difficult time. But especially to Kaitlyn.
